With the continuing transformation of our social and economic structure and population structure,rural-urban migration has entered a new stage of development,family migration replaces the previous individual migration,dominates the Chinese population migration.This will has a significant impact to the new urbanization,social and economic sustainable development.With the practice of rural-urban migration of families,the evolution of family migration system from individual family members to some migration and family migration patterns has become a social fact and inevitable trend.We use the Nanjing rural-urban migration of household survey data of "internal migration and social protection",and family strategy and social network theory perspective,use the questionnaires method and multivariate statistical analysis methods,select the rural-urban family migration as the basic unit of analysis.The basic family status of rural-urban migration,migration mechanism and social effects as following:The evolution of rural-urban family migration system has been reflected in the type and phased features of migration.Family migration has been more than half,in which the proportion of complete household migration refrain.Migration family shows characteristics of miniaturization,mobility within diverse family relationship,formed a "nuclear family and single family bimodal coexist,extended family,supplemented by" features.the family migration batch are reducing and speedingRural-urban migration is a family strategic effort of family-based safety,in pursuit of the better family life.The more focused on the risk of the city life,for the first time the migration family will chose individual migration more.Family economic situation is better,anti-risk ability is stronger,the stronger the social support network,the greater the likelihood of family's migration.Risk control is mainly based on family migration decisions in batches.Pioneer will choose family migration batch based on their life stage,showing a decrease after the first increase of the "U" shaped curve shape;risk perception of urban life,the higher the cost of family life,the more family migration batch will be selected.On batch interval decisions,risk control is the basic strategy objective.the stronger of the Risk control ability,the family migrated shorter intervals;the higher migration costs,migration batch interval and the duration of the family will be longer.In addition,the stronger the family reunion wishes,the shorter intervals.Social effects of rural-urban family migration are notable.Family migration will bring the following beneficial social effects:by rebuilding the primary groups,form the basic individual support;promote family stability,resolve family problems;promote the realization of the new urbanization with low urbanization costs;provide a new starting point of the social stability.Of course,as an impact on the existing old order,which will cause some initial problems in the process of change:the formation of a new family tensions;geographic rural decline;competition for the social resources with city society groups means conflicts;in the process of fighting for citizenship will cause the conflict with the state and bring about social disorders.This study explores the decision-making mechanisms and social effects of the rural-urban family migration of,which will expand existing research in the field of domestic migration,rich Chinese rural-urban migration research.In addition,base on research findings,related discussions are made-trying to build a snowball migration theory,rethinking the historical status of rural-urban migrants,reflecting propulsion for future research,especially on social policy discussions——which will provide the empirical and theoretical basis for the improvement of rural-urban migration policies.
