Study On The Governance Of China Basketball Association

The governance of CBA is aimed to make the league a professional card in athletic field and a world-class event with Chinese characteristics.Under the background of China's entering a new era of deepening reform comprehensively,this paper studies the problems existing in CBA from the perspective of national governance system and modernization of governance capacity,puts forward new ideas and methods of managing professional sports leagues,and promotes the construction of the CBA governance system.Based on literature review,expert interviews,questionnaires,mathematical statistics and logical analysis,this paper clarifies the development process of CBA and draws lessons from the advanced experience in the governance of professional sports leagues in foreign countries to study the problems existing in CBA governance and its key links so as to provide theoretical basis and practical strategy for the selection of governance path and methods for CBA in the new era.Research results:1.The governance theory and stakeholder theory provide theoretical basis for CBA governance;Stakeholder theory provides the basis for dealing with various subjects in the league;Governance theory provides directions for the sustainable development of the league.2.Through the review and analysis of its development history,its concluded that the governance of CBA should adjust the institutional mechanism with the continuous deepening of the national sports reform,and take professionalization as its future direction,so as to comply with the development of basketball.3.The development of CBA has experience twists and turns.It went through the eighth finals,the CNBA Professional League,the Chinese Men's Basketball League A and so on,before it's finally named "CBA".The complexity of its development history also demonstrates the tortuous and complex nature of China's sports reform.4.The predicament of CBA governance is reflected in multiple aspects.The governance of the CBA is affected by various factors such as management institutions,clubs,sponsors,and basketball culture,which reflects its diversification nature.5.The successful experience of the development of NBA and the Premier League has referential value for CBA's governance.We need to draw on the successful management experience of NBA and the Premier League,and select properly and establish a governance model which is consistent with China's social culture,geographical conditions and capital structure.6.We should attach importance to the key links of CBA governance and its governing subjects and keep reinforcing governance standard of CBA from the perspective of institutional construction,brand building,talent construction,and cultural construction.7.We should stick to the right vision and principles in CBA governance.The selection and construction of the basic governance idea should be highly consistent with the concept of governing a state held by the Party Central Committee,having faith in the socialist culture and theory with Chinese special features and combing the market with the means of governing by law;we should also follow the principle of being professional and highly efficient,fair and open,smooth channels,flexibility of operation,sound legal system,and effective management.8.In order to figure out governing path for CBA that displays Chinese characteristics,we should fully invigorate its vitality and values.The goal of its governance is to find a trend that is consistent with both the development of international professional sports leagues and the characteristics of China's socialist market economy system,to develop a governance model that is different from that of other foreign professional leagues like NBA and the English Premier League and a developing path which both abides by the developing rule of modern basketball sports and display obvious Chinese characteristics.
