Since been officially verified as a type of higher education,higher vocational education has been considered equally important as other type of higher education.On the other hand,most higher vocational colleges in our country originate from vocational universities,adult higher education and secondary specialized schools,with a history of only 40 years.Although great progress has been accomplished with higher vocational education,from a cultural perspective,there are still problems such as the lack of university culture and weak occupational culture existing in objective reality.Meanwhile,the property of higher and vocational is not enough to highlight as an independent type and important part of higher education.The weaken cultural education fails to realize the mission of the moral education and cultivate people.The indefiniteness of cultural education results in the generalization of cultural education.However,the current research results remain fragmented and lack of foundation framework in general,being not effective enough to guide the cultural education activities in higher vocational colleges.By means of the historical research,the literature research and the investigative method,this project studies the value-oriented cultural education in vocational colleges by taking 15 national demonstrative(mainstay)higher vocational school in Jiangsu Province as master samples.For achieving the goal of Chinese characteristics and reaching for the world class,higher vocational education must carry out cultural education,together with the definition of the value orientation in cultural education.The ‘5B orientation' given by UNESCO positioned in the primary level vocational in higher vocational cultural education.And the ‘restoration of its double identity' given by Chinese government positioned the meaning of higher vocational in higher vocational cultural education.The higher vocational education shares the same ‘higher' cultural attribute with regular higher education,while also revealing the occupational characteristics expectation.The orientation of cultural education determined the nature of value orientation in cultural education,while the character of cultural education reflected features of value orientation in cultural education.The value orientation of cultural education had a reverse effect towards the direction and character of cultural education.As so,the dimension in the direction and the value pursuit of cultural education could be defined as the ought-to-be aims of value orientation in higher vocational cultural education.By analyzing from dimension of the positioning and character of cultural education,the value orientation in there should be all embodied as four parts.The educational route of the value orientation in higher vocational cultural education should be set as follow.The educational objectives aim at occupational special talents,the path of education focus on bicultural subject of both colleges and enterprise.Envisaging the reality dissonance between value goal in education culture and enterprise culture,avoiding the disadvantage cultural factor in enterprise culture that impeding the formation of morality,rationality,together with truth,kindness and beauty of life.By seizing the effective collaboration of education culture and enterprise culture,the goal of moral education and cultivate people could be reached out.The origin of vocational education in our country could be dated back to 1870 s.Since then until the reform and opening up,the vocational education and its value orientation of cultural education in China had experienced an extraordinary course of development.After the reform and opening-up,along with keeping economic development as the central task,the higher vocational education emerged.During the process of development,it was influenced by Chinese Traditional culture's dual-discrimination to the spirit of technology,the indepth integration from social culture to the educational culture,the reflection by foreign culture on the higher vocational culture and so on.It evolved into the cultural pattern of the value orientation characteristics in higher vocational cultural education.By setting the development needs,development scale and development quality as evaluating standard.The development of higher vocational education in our country has a progressive development characteristic and value targets of cultural education.Through the analysis of the depth of understanding,emphasis and practice validity in cultural education,value orientation in higher vocational cultural education was divided into four phases,as the progressive development task determined:casual,instrumentality,rationality and characteristic.The four stages,taking the interaction between economy and higher vocational education as the motive force of evolution,served as a revolution process of adaption,adjustment and readaptation.Honestly,there is much realistic contradiction within the value orientation in higher vocational cultural education.In the larger sense,great achievements have been accomplished.Meanwhile,there is a loss in dimension that the dimension swing blocks the type manifestation.From the practice situations of value orientation in higher vocational cultural education,the main problems that weakened and restricted the depth,range and validity within itself implementation were evolved as follow: the generalized collaboration of industrial cultural factors,subjectively filling industry and enterprise elements,contempt for cultivating excellent enterprise spirit,blind and fragmentary focus on interculturality.All these problems had not been developed overnight,neither caused by single factor,but as a result of multi-dimensional factor combination.The key obstacles to exercise influence lie in the lack of awareness in cultural education,the insufficient understanding of professional culture,the short age of fusion in cultural of school-enterprise,the imperfect mechanism of cultural communication,and the unsound mechanism of laws and regulations.In order to demonstrate the value orientation in higher vocational cultural education,everything should be systematically carried out form the aspect of content,carrier,path,ways of distribution,cultural environment and so on.
