Research On The Green Production Behavior Of Rice Farmers From The Perspective Of Industrial Organization Mode

In recent years,China's grain output has achieved continuous growth,and its comprehensive agricultural capacity has also been rapidly improved.However,excessive reliance on chemical fertilizers and pesticides in agricultural production has produced obvious negative external effects,leading to severe agro-environmental and agricultural product safety problems.In order to reduce resource and environmental constraints and better meet consumers' demands for safe agricultural products,it has become a common consensus of all sectors to transform the agricultural development mode and promote agricultural green production.Farmers,as the main body of agricultural production,guide them to implement green production behavior,which is of great significance to guarantee national food security and ecological safety.However,in reality,due to the combined influence of internal and external factors,the current implementation degree of green production of farmers is not high.As a benefit sharing manner linking the relationship between farmers and industrial organizations,industrial organization mode can influence the production behavior of farmers through various ways such as guidance and regulation.Therefore,it has the potential to become an important factor determining agricultural green production.How does farmer make the decision of choosing the industrial organization mode? What is the influence mechanism of different industrial organization modes on farmers' green production behavior? How does green production further affect farmer income? The answers to these questions will provide useful references for promoting the sustainable development of agriculture in China and ensuring the continuous increase of farmers' income.Based on 1487 survey data collected in Hubei,Anhui,Heilongjiang and Jilin provinces,this paper studied the green production behavior characterized by rice farmers' adoption of commercial organic fertilizer,synchronized side-deep fertilization technology,green prevention and control technology of diseases and insect pests,and plant-protection UAV technology.Through the establishment of a systematic analysis framework of “industrial organization mode selection-green production behavior-income effect”,the mechanism of green production behavior and its impact on income of rice farmers from the perspective of industrial organization was explored.Specifically,it firstly explores the decision-making of rice farmers' industrial organization mode selection by the multinomial logit model,and clarifies the effect process of different institutional arrangements on green production under the tight industrial organization mode.Secondly,based on the analysis process of “green production technology-green production behavior”,the paper explores the effect of industrial organization mode on rice farmers' adoption of different green production technologies and their differences by using multivariate probit model.Meanwhile,it further reveals the influence mechanism of industrial organization mode on rice farmers' green production behavior by the multiple treatment effect model and ordered logit model,and adding intermediary variables and regulatory variables respectively.Then,this paper explores the income effect of rice farmers' green production,as well as the impact of green production adoption on rice farmers' income and its heterogeneity by the endogenous transformation regression model,OLS model and unconditional quantile regression.Finally,from the perspective of industrial organization,case analysis method was adopted to analyze the driving effect and guarantee of tight industrial organization mode on green production of rice farmers.The research shows that: Firstly,to cope with the challenges of rice production from resources and environment,the green,accurate and organization has become the future trend of development.Secondly,transaction characteristics such as rice planting area,times of technical training and the difficulty of obtaining information and the market environment,are important factors to promote rice farmers to choose close-type industrial organization mode,and this mode mainly plays a major role in rice farmers' green production through prior control,process control and result control.Thirdly,there are internal differences in the impact of tight industrial organization mode on rice farmers' adoption of different green production technologies.Tight industrial organization mode can not only directly drive rice farmers to implement green production,but also indirectly drive through strengthening green cognition,and government propaganda has a significant positive regulatory effect on rice farmers' green cognition.Fourthly,the implementation of green production promotes the increase of rice farmers' income.Under the counterfactual hypothesis,if the rice farmers who implement green production do not implement,their rice income will decrease by 9.2%.If the rice farmers who did not implement green production implement green production,their rice income will increase by 107.7%.Finally,the adoption of green production has significant role in promoting farmers' rice income.The adoption of green production has significant role in promoting farmers' rice income and the income increasing effect of low-income rice farmers is better than that of high-income rice farmers.This reveals that the implementation of green production is an important way to ensure the continuous increase of rice farmers' income,which can not only improve the farmers' income,but also help to alleviate the income gap among rice farmers.Fifthly,interest connection,production process control and external resource integration are the fundamental guarantee for the tight industrial organization mode to drive the green development of rice industry.Accordingly,the thesis proposes the following policy recommendations.Firstly,it is suggested to optimize the industrial development environment and guide rice farmers to participate in the intensive industrial organization mode.Secondly,it is recommended to innovate the industrial organization mode to promote the implementation of green production by rice farmers.In addition,it is advised to enhance the adoption of green production by rice farmers from multiple perspectives and to promote the steady growth of rice production income.Lastly,it is suggest to break the barrier of the connection between industrial organizations and rice farmers,and strengthen the foundation and institutional guarantee of cooperation between them.
