| The predecessor of Diansheng weekly is Diansheng daily,which was founded in Shanghai in 1932.After its revision and upgrading,it won the reputation of "the first film magazine of the Republic of China" because of its rich and diverse content,long duration and large market share.The title is taken from the combination of "film" and "sound wave",and also has the meaning of discourse construction represented by "voice".The magazine spreads modern ideas to the public by sending current affairs,entertainment and scientific and technological news,enriching and enhancing the spiritual space of citizens.As one of the carriers of social and cultural dynamic information related to movies in the 1930 s,"electronic sound" not only records the phased reality of the development of Chinese movies,but also enlightens the public through the output of modern discourse.Therefore,electro sound is an important material for studying the history of Chinese movies and the development of mass media.Based on the classification and sorting of materials,combined with narratology theory,logical analysis and induction,this paper studies the modernity thought and its representation that dominate the discourse tendency of Diansheng weekly,and shows the social and cultural development process contained therein.Using semiotics and structuralism from the west to analyze local news texts can add a Chinese perspective to modernity.This paper positions the connotation of modernity in the collective psychological identity formed from the individual sense of responsibility and belonging,that is,the public consciousness represented by the national identity,as well as the changes in subjective consciousness and corresponding aesthetic and emotional aspects arising from the modern scientific and technological civilization and social progress.Extracting modernity representation information from the text form level is based on linguistics and narratology theory.It analyzes and inspects the explicit message symbols and the implicit narrative structure,and explores the modern ideas and psychological models contained in the narrative form level.At the level of discourse perspective,the connotation of modernity is summarized,mainly through the comprehensive comparison and interpretation of social culture of review articles and related information,and the core viewpoints expressed by modernity discourse are refined.Finally,the paper comprehensively analyzes the thinking of "Diansheng" in discriminating and discussing the modernity tension within the overall framework of the nation,and reproduces the logical process and social significance of its modernity thinking framework from the macro level.The full text is divided into three parts: introduction,text and conclusion.The introduction clarifies the basis,thinking method,significance and innovation of the topic,and focuses on the research foundation,including the connotation and application of the narrative theory used in this paper,and the current situation of domestic research on Diansheng weekly.The first chapter of the text,starting from the social and historical information and specific periodical materials,summarizes the background of the times and the classification of news of the birth of Diansheng weekly,and grasps the reality of the journal as a whole.The second chapter focuses on the analysis of the modern ideological tendency and performance of Diansheng weekly from the perspective of ideological tendency,including the discourse space,the idea of running the magazine,the modern form and so on.The third chapter starts from the theoretical viewpoint of linguistics and semiotics,and on the basis of classifying the "symbols" that represent the spiritual connotation of modernity in Diansheng weekly,studies the symbol ontology and deep-seated symbol system,and analyzes the role of these symbols in human psychological construction.As an explicit form element of discourse representation,symbols condensed the meaning of the information they carried,projected the social and cultural ecology and the people’s ideology at that time,and participated in the construction of the subject’s psychological structure and thinking mode.The fourth chapter analyzes the representative narrative structure of Diansheng weekly by using structuralism and other narrative theories.Structure is the recessive formal element of modernity,showing how "meaning" is "structured" through various "relationships".Analyzing the structure of narrative can examine the modern ideas and psychological mechanisms contained therein.The fifth chapter extracts the core content and main viewpoints of the modernity discourse expression of the positive,critical and thematic news,and highlights the function of Diansheng weekly in participating in the construction of the "public space" in the 1930 s and its role in the whole social system by summarizing and analyzing the direct statement of the journal’s modernity ideas.The sixth chapter,based on the previous five chapters’ elucidation of the modernity discourse representation and ideological connotation of Diansheng weekly,analyzes the interactive relationship between modernity,nationality and popularity under the tension of multiple contradictions from a macro perspective,presents the internal logic of the rational thinking of modernity at the national level of Diansheng weekly,and summarizes its guiding role in cultural practice within the historical framework.The conclusion ponders the reference significance of the modern discourse construction of Diansheng weekly to the current mass media from the aspects of modernity reflection and public space expansion.The information communication activities of mass media based on the theme concept and discourse representation reflect the process of social discourse with guiding power participating in shaping social concepts in a certain historical context from both direct and indirect aspects.This paper studies the modernity thought of Diansheng from the direct discourse output and indirect formal representation,examines the appearance of modernity ideas and public consciousness in the context of the 1930 s in China,and ponders the social and cultural significance of modernity ideas in terms of the interactive relationship between modernity and the subjectivity of the people and even Chinese Society.Studying the spiritual connotation of modernity discourse construction and its role and influence on society and cultural ecology can expand the idea of modernity,deepen the understanding of social public space,and provide reference and inspiration for the development of mass media at present. |
