Study On The Shaping Of Professional Image Of College Counselors

The professional image building of college counselors has important theoretical and practical significance for further intensifying the theoretical research on the professional image building of college counselors,enhancing the professional identity of college counselors,promoting the construction of college counselors,and improving the scientific level of Ideological and political education in the universities.This thesis is based on the world outlook and methodology of dialectical and historical materialism,the methods of empirical research,literature research and multidisciplinary comprehensive research are used.In this thesis,we discuss and sort out the ideas about the development process of College Counselor’s professional image building on the basis of determining the meaning of College Counselor’s professional image building,explore the theoretical basis,theoretical basis,practical basis,policies and regulations of the shaping of the professional image of college counselors,analyze the current situation of the shaping of the professional image of college counselors,and further discuss the Countermeasures of shaping the good professional image of college counselors.The defining and discussing the meaning and development process of College Counselors’ professional image building is a foundational work for the study of College Counselors’ professional image building.The professional image of college counselors refers to the overall impression formed in people’s mind by the internal qualities of college counselors,such as professional responsibility,ethics,cognition,skills,quality,professionalism and innovative spirit,as well as the external images,such as clothes,appearance and appearance,speech and behaviors.These overall impressions are their morality in professional occasions Comprehensive performance in cultivation,knowledge,behavior,appearance and personality charm.Purposefully and systematically shape the internal qualities of college counselors to make them become the College Students’ life tutors and intimate friends during their development.The professional image building of college counselors is developing with the establishment of college counselor system in China.The establishment and improvement of college counselor system in China can be divided into four stages:the initial establishment stage(1949-1965),the frustration and stagnation stage(1966-1976),the recovery and development stage(1977-1999)and the improvement stage(2000-present).In order to shape the professional image of college counselors,we not only need to explore the theoretical basis of shaping the professional image of college counselors,but also have to grasp the main basis of shaping the professional image of college counselors.The birth of Marxism provides a scientific world outlook and methodology for us to examine and study the problem of shaping the professional image of college counselors.The Marxist classic theories on Marxist humanism,human all-round development,spiritual communication and social division of labor provide a scientific and solid theoretical basis for the shaping of the professional image of college counselors.The main basis of shaping the professional image of college counselors includes theoretical basis,practical basis,policy and regulation basis.The theoretical basis of shaping the professional image of college counselors mainly includes Ideological and political education related theories,psychology related theories,management related theories,sociology related theories,organizational behavior related theories and so on.The realistic basis for shaping the professional image of college counselors is mainly reflected in the urgent need to strengthen counselors,and the realistic demand for the growth and all-round development of College Students.A series of documents and regulations are issued by the CPC Central Committee,the State Council and the Ministry of education provide a policy basis for shaping a good professional image of college counselors.The constitution,laws and regulations promulgated and implemented successively in China have provided a legal basis for shaping the good professional image of college counselors.On the one side,the shaping of the professional image of college counselors has achieved many positive results: firstly,the national policies about the roles and post setting of college counselors have been continuously improved.Secondly,the training and research of college counselors have been strengthened.Thirdly,the number of college counselors is growing and the structure is optimized day by day.Fourthly,the professional degree of college counselor team construction has been continuously improved,Fifthly,the professional identity of college counselors has been further improved.On the other hand,there are also some problems that can not be ignored during the process of shaping the professional image of College Counselors: firstly,the policy support platform of college counselors is not systematic enough,Secondly,the professional attribution of college counselors needs to be further clarified.Thirdly,the discipline support of college counselors is not sufficient enough;Fourthly,the construction of professional culture of college counselors needs to be strengthened;Fifthly,the career vision of college counselors needs to be further clarified.Sixthly,the self-evaluation of college counselors is low and the degree of social recognition is not high enough.The main reasons for these problems are caused by the following factors,such as the society,the University,the family and individual factors.The strategies of shaping the good professional image of college counselors should be strengthened in four aspects,which includes the optimization of social environment,the high attention of the universities,the construction of family atmosphere and the improvement of individual quality.Firstly,in terms of social environment optimization,we should produce relevant policies to promote the innovation of counselor system,create a good public opinion environment and improve the professional identity of counselors,formulate professional standards and enhance the professional pride of counselors,strengthen the construction of network culture and promote the construction of network legislation and network moral civilization.Secondly,in terms of the high attention of universities.The college counselors should be armed with the Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era,we should adhere to the development path of professionalization and specialization,establish and improve the long-term mechanism of College Counselors’ career development,promote the discipline construction of College Students’ Ideological and political education,strengthen the construction of professional culture of college counselors.Thirdly,in order to build a harmonious atmosphere between work and family,we should create a family learning atmosphere,deal with the relationship between lifelong learning and professional development,inherit the good family style and family motto,provide spiritual nourishment for the shaping of professional image.Fourthly,in the aspect of improving individual quality,we should improve moral quality and cultivate counselors’ professionalism,improve knowledge literacy and the knowledge structure of counselors,expand the ability and accomplishment and enhance the professional ability of counselors,increase the overall quality and establish a good appearance image of counselors.
