It has been very common to resolve many geological problems by means ofgeological model and analysis methods to provide transaction processing scheme ingeology fields. However, geological spatial data are characterized by multi-source,multidisciplinary, multi-scale and space topology. Especially with the “big data” eracoming, it is very important to realize the data volume, the velocity, the veracity andsharing for geological spatial data. Therefore, designing and developing a strong andexcellent DBMS as the foundation of the method to properly store and manage all thespatial data is a prerequisite. The objective of this paper is to explore and try todevelop an ideal DBMS applied to store and mange all kinds of spatial data based onthe database theory and key technology taking Xingcheng region of Liaoningprovince as an example.Firstly, this paper summarizes the geological conditions in the study area,analyzes the spatial data characteristics, compares the advantages and disadvantagesfor all kinds of spatial data model. Then this paper detailedly analyzes theGeo_database space data model and ArcSDE technology as current populartechnologies to build multi-source spatial database management system, mainlyincluding building up database model and system framework. Lastly, the databasemanagement system for xing-cheng regional geological spatial data are built based onGeodatabase space data model, using SQL Sever as the database platform, usingArcSDE spatial data engine and the secondary development of GIS technology, whichrealizes the multiple source of spatial data storage, retrieval, management, output, andother functions.The spatial database established in this paper to unified storage and managementfor the multi-source is an initial work, which provides a good platform to managexing-cheng regional geological spatial data. So the achievements of this paper haveimportant practical significance and applying value.
