Design And Development Of Urban Foundamental Geographic Information System

Being the spatial data infrastructure of urban geographic information system, foundamental geographic information system is also the position vector and backgroud of all kinds of information about our cities."Digital City" is the development model of our cities in the future.Urban foundamental geographic information system(UFGIS) is the foundation of "Digital City".It is also the incarnate of "Digital Earth" technology systems in our cities. UFGIS is the digital description of city facilities and it is also the foundation to build "Digital City".The development goal of UFGIS is to provide a real-time and dynamic spatial data infrastructure for the "Digital City".The complete of UFGIS's building will provide the basis of spatial framework for the building of "Digital City".However,there are still some problems in the construction of our Urban Foundamental Geographical Information System. So,an efficient method with high-efficient,lower-cost and higher-quality for the UFGIS platform's building is important to the construction of informatization city.In this paper,we present the background,current development and tendency of UFGIS. The problem of the current FGIS is also be studied.Based on the above,we drive the mainly content and significance of this paper.In the following,we explain the target and principle in the UFGIS's building.Moreover,technology,tatal frame,function design,digital storeroom design of the UFGIS.The digital storeroom includes unit digital storeroom and attribute digital storeroom design.Moreover,the data management model,technology roadmap, overall framework,modular design features,database design are also given.We mainly focuse on the features of each Sub-module and the design of database.In a case,by taking Chang Zhou high-tech Zone as Starting point,we build Chang Zhou city foundamental geographic information system.In this case,we introduce each flow process,from project planning to detailed implementation.At last,we summarize the research results and the points needed to perfect.With analysis and comparison of various technologies,we design and realize the independent UFGIS.Also,we realize the safe,high-efficient,reasonable management of UFGIS.In our system,with VB.net being the development environment,we take ArcGIS Engine as Development Kit and store the geographical information data in Oracle DBMS through ArcSDE.
