USB Interface And Its Application In CNC System

The thesis studies Universal Serial Bus Specification (Revision 2.0) and two ways of developing a USB device in details; Then it introduces Windows Driver Model and how to develop a driver for a USB device. Infrared technology, USB technology and Bluetooth technology are compared. Based on the chip, characteristics of development kit and price, a hand-held controller for CNC machine with USB interface, whose core structure is composed of AT89C52 microprocessor and PDIUSBD12 interface device made by Philips co., is designed.After analyzing the communication way between different modules of an open architecture CNC system, the author studies USB application in CNC system and an open architecture CNC system model based on USB is proposed.At last, a new communication specification, Bluetooth, is also discussed. The idea of developing a PDA specially for numerical control system with a Bluetooth module is conceived.
