The research and analysis of the inking system was carried out and the software for simulation analysis was developed, by which the blue prints of inking system could be estimated conveniently and efficiently. The main contents and innovations are as follows:1. The research of inking system was carried out systematically, including the ink's printability and its shift, transfer state during printing. The response time and the stabilization time were regarded as the dynamic index combining with the static index being used to value the inking system comprehensively and objectively.2. Through the simulative research of the system the simulative module was constructed and the software using the visualization and object oriented programming (OOP) techniques and modular programming was developed by which the design scheme could be inputted via computer plot.3. The practicable software could be applied to not only the same design scheme with different parameters but also the different ones with same parameters. It is convenient to evaluate and optimize many kinds of design scheme of the inking system and could store and redact the design scheme. The software could provide accordance for the designers and the users.4. The experiment on the PZ1650 sheet-fed press was performed for getting the indexes of the inking system. Through the comparison between the simulativeconclusion and the actual result, the software practicability was validated.
