At present, the solvent in the plastic gravure printing ink which in common use is the poisonous toluene. The development trend of gravure printing is using the nonpoisonous environmental protection type of gravure ink, that is propitious to environmental protection, operation and operator's health. This thesis expatiated how to develop non-benzene plastic gravure surface printing ink, discuss the basic principle of choosing the solvent, resin and pigment, those are the component of the gravure printing ink, and through the experiment, confirmed the component of the printing ink, optimized the formulation of the printing ink. Utilized physical dispersing method to prepare the printing ink sample, probed into the influence of different additive and the preparation conditions, appraised the printability of the printing ink sample.Printability is an important standard of weighing the quality of the printing ink, influence the printing quality directly, and the component of the ink make important influence to the printability. This thesis prepare the plastic gravure printing ink through alter resin, pigment and auxiliary, etc., test viscosity, surface tension, dryness, adhesive force, density of color and other primary printability, study the influence of the composition to the printability, so as to filter various kinds of composition of the ink to reach the best printability. Test the printability of the ink which is composed with the best composition, such as dryness, adhesive force, density of color, color region and trapping rate, etc. and compared with the toluene printing ink. The test result indicates that, the printability of the printing ink basically conforms or superior to the toluene printing ink.
