Research On WaterResource And Environmental Geological Problems In Ningxia

Ningxia lies in the east of west-north china. It is very drought. Water resource is veryscarce. Water used in industry and agriculture mainly comes from Yellow river. In latestyears water using has increased continually due to development of society and economy,drougnt climate, reducing rain and irrational exploitation of water resource, all these havemade the problems of water resource more and more worse and the environmental geologicalproblems caused by them makes the primary weak entironment face flinty complexion. Waterresource and environmental geological Problems is the principal problem which ningxia mustbe solved during the development of society and economy.In this dissertation ningxia's water resource status is analysed objectively. Base on quatityof water used in 2000, quantity of water which will be exploited and consumed in 2010, 2015,2020 is forecasted dividing water into water of industry, agriculture, the tertiary industry, living,stock raising and entironment. Under saving water and improving technology, it will be shortof 0.22×108 m3 water in 2010, 1.73×108m3 in 2015, 4.21×108m3 in 2020. Because of thiseconomical development should be adjusted and west project of water in south moved to northshould be began as early as to increase the water of Yellow river distributed to Ningxia .Ningxia's water resource problems are summed up mainly including (1) Status of lackingwater is serious increasingly;(2) Efficiency of water using is low;(3) distribution among waterresources, land and population is mismatched;(4) Phenomenoa of Water pollution is seriousincreasingly.Main environmental geological problems are salt-affected soil in north of Yinchuan Plainand desertification in north-middle of Ningxia and montanic soil erosion in south of Ningxia.distributing area of these disasters and what caused them and how they harmed are analysed.Aiming at the water resource and environmental geological problems in Ningxia,Countermeasures of sustainable development on water resource and environment are broughtforward, including: ① Popularize energetically to save water and enhance people'sconsciousness of saving water;②Many kinds of measures to control salt-affected soil shouldbe taken;③Development mode in south montanic area is brought forward;④Many kinds ofmeasures to control desertification can be taken in Ningxia;⑤Water price in agricultureshould be adjusted reasonly;⑥Using water repeatly in industry should be improved andpollution should be controlled more strictly;⑦Deep water resource in Yinchuan Plain shouldbe investigated;⑧West project of water in south moved to north should begin as early as.
