Amino acid salicylaldehyde Schiff base complexes are very important in biological system. Their biological activities against bacteria and cancer have arosed great intense. Anticancer medicament research on amino acids and their ramifications is an important orientation. Amino acids are the basic units to form substances, and this sort of medicaments have low toxicity. Therefore ,the research on the interaction between this kind of complexes and DNA is highly significant to explain the functionary mechanism, to select antibacterial and anticancer medicines, and to understand the reasons why the carcinogens result in all kinds of cancer. The synthetic methods of N-salicylidene glycine Schiff base and its copper complex are not only simply but also efficient. This paper reported the preparation of this kind of complex, and discussed the reciprocity of the complex with DNA in many different ways. At last ,the crucial conclusions are hoped to provide scientific and theoretic basis for the design and synthe-sization of the anticancer medicines. The results from my experiment are as follows:1.N-salicylidene glycine Schiff base and its copper complex are synthesized by the method in literatures. The results show that this complex has four compound places and cubic structures through different methods, such as UV.IR.TG-DTA etc. Moreover its possiple frame is Cu(sal-gly) · H2O.2.The electrochemistry character of the complex and the interaction with DNA, which have not been studied by cyclic voltammetric, a.c. impedence methods and differential pulse voltammetry. Decrease in peak current and pervasion modulus, increment in impedance and the vast decrease in electron diversion modulus, electricity potential, deoxidized reaction speed constant, show the complex bound to DNA by using of intercalation. And the DNA-modified glassy carbon electrode is obtained by absorption in order to research the interaction.3.This paper also reports the research into the interaction of complex and DNA by spectromeritic technologies and viscosity. The results, such as red shift of absorption peaks, increment in the viscosity of DNA, investigates the complex can insert into the inner of DNA bi-helix structure. The apparent equilibium constant is also found.
