The machining process simulation is the key technology in CAD/CAM fields. Nowaday, tool-path simulation and dynamic-entity simulation are the popular verification mode for the operation personnel to verify the validity of the cutter location source file (CLSF). Using it, the operator can find out the blemish of over cutting, short cutting and other mistakes in the NC programmes easily. But, it can't check some of the collision and interference phenomenon such as the collsion between fixture and tool. In addition, the CAD/CAM often provides a universal post-processing function. However, it usually can't be used directly, and in order to satisfy some kinds of NC controller, it must be modified by hand partially. This will reduce the producting efficiency.In order to using the present CAD/CAM function of UG software to solve the two problems, this paper researchs on the redevelopment technology of UG primarily, and brings forward the method for constructing virtual NC machine tool, fixture accessory standard library and manufacturing environment model. And then, constructs the fixture accessory standard library. Based on the research of the principle and function of athletics model and virtual NC controller constructs a virtual 3-axis machine tool for the virtual machine tool library.For processing the CLSF directly and rapidly, this paper researchs on the algorithm of tool vector and angle conversion for 5-axis machine deeply. Adopted the method that interpreted the cutter lacation files line by line, this paper designed the special post-processor for HNC-21M numeric controlling system. By using the special post-processor, the correct CLSF can be processed to NC programmes that can utilize directly by the NC controller.
