The compact spinning technology catches lots of career men's and customers' attention for its excellent production quality, so it gets a quick development during the past several years. At present, the spinning frames, which spinning factories are using in China now, mainly include FA506, FA507, FA503 ring frame; its amount has reached several ten million. However, only Suessen Elite' and Rotocraft Rocos' compact spinning equipment can be adapted to improve current spinning frames in world. But the improvement will be a considerable expense. So they are not fit to popularize in our country. Compact spinning technology must be able to popularize in China if improving our spinning frames in lower cost can be carried out. It is a matter of great significance that manufacturing compact spinning equipment adapted to improve spinning frames in our country. The paper is a study on compact spinning technology based on FA506 spinning frame.First, several representative international compact spinning technology and relevant Chinese mechanical compact spinning patent were analyzed in order to offer some guidance and thought on own paper. Research index mechanical compact spinning equipment can be provided with succinct design, prompt installation, operational reliability, convenience maintenance. Due to its investment and low run cost, it certainly will be popular with most enterprises.Technologic parameters of compact spinning were analyzed in detail by establishing one basic figure of compact spinning geometry. Then the equation of reasonable across-section technologic dimensions was derived. The range of reasonable across-section technologic dimensions of compact spinning was further presented using MATLAB.The range of reasonable technologic dimensions of the design scheme was derived based on the principle of compact spinning of the paper using the equation. The results showed that the across-section technologic parameters of compact spinning contain and conflict each another. But principal contradiction is the inclination of roller nip to thread guide, the one, which combines the yarn broken and the length of compact field, is controlled to smaller angle. Usually the reasonable inclination of roller nip to thread guide and the length of compact field is a pair of main contradiction which can be solved in harmony by optimizing the orientation and shape dimension of compact roller.Mechanical compact spinning device, which based on reasonable technologic dimensions, was designed using 3D software in the paper. At the same time, the key technologic parameters, material of part, the pressure, the method of transmission were analyzed and calculated.The convergence effect, easy to machine and low cost were harmonized to meet design intention and requirements considering reconstructive cost and run cost. Then the papers of machining drawing of the sets are presented.Whereas the groove roller with herringbone gear is difficult to machine and the running of top convergence apron isn't good, the test of the research subject adopts groove convergent roller and top roller instead of convergence roller with herringbone gear and top convergence apron. From the process of spinning test is observed and the data is analyzed that the yarn is tested. The follow conclusions were deduced from this experimentation:1) The yarn twist transmits the front roller nip via the groove. The status can be seen clearly from the scene photogram.2) The breaking strength and evenness of the yarns is improved clearly from the yarns test data, which explains that the disappearance of the spinning triangle zone on the convergent roller nip helps improving the yarn breaking strength and evenness.3) From the test data, yarn hairiness wasn't improved but worsened instead because surface smooth finish in yarn track of the groove and the convergence implement is not good enough, at the same time the airflow produced by running up of the front roller turn fringe fiber on spinning triangle zone into flying and hairiness.4) The device makes spinning triangle zone to disappear, but it makes the zone to move to the front roller nip by nature. So the wrap arc of the front roller will shorten and fiber loss will be reduced, which accord with yarn test data.5) The spinning length of roller nip to thread guide will be longer after mechanical compact spinning equipment is installed, and the mean twist of spinning length will be reduced, and then the yarn breakage will increase.6) Spinning hairiness didn't reach anticipative aim because fringe fiber on the spinning triangle zone was not controlled and converged in time and effectively.
