The UV-protection Of Lac Dye And Its Application To Silk

Natural production is decomposable and friendly to the environment. The fabric dyed with natural production not only have good UV-protection, but also have suppleness, good hygroscopicity, comfortness etc,so the fabric dyed with natural production must has a great improvement on the idea pursueing naturalness of customers. Lac dye was selected from many plants in the present study as a kind of UV-protection applied to silk. The optimal process and the infection of treated process to fabric were discussed.Pre-chelated the silk fabric with metal ion, and then finished by Lac dye in the UV-protective finishing process. Whether different kinds of metal ions, concentration of Lac dye, pH of finishing solution, temperature, time, and solarization could make a difference on the UV-protective properties of silk .After finished by the optimal process, some tests such as breaking strength,gas permeability were carried out on the silk fabrics, what's more, the structure and thermal stability of treated fabric were determined through TG test and WAXD.Experimental results revealed that the fabrics dyed with lac dye had good ultraviolet protective properties. After finished by the optimal process, the UPF of the silk was more than 100. The results also showed that different colours were got with different chelation. The fabric got corlour and UV-protective properties at the same time. The fabric treated with lac dye had good solarization faseness, and the silk got a higher UPF value after solarizing. The breaking strength and gas permeability of the finished silk were hardly changed. Thermal stability developed through TG. and DTG. From the figures of WAXD of treated and untreated fibers, it was shown that crystal structures of finished fabrics were hardly changed. The results revealed that the silk finished with lac dye has a great value of explotation and application.
