CO2 expansion standard prescription strips and ordinary expanded cut tobacco were used as test material by CO2 expansion. Effect law of main process and technology or processing parameter on physical processing quality and smoking quality of expanded cut tobacco was researched by single factor experiment method in expansion line .Whole line processing optimization method and winnowing expansion tower equipment technical transformating demonstrating experiment were taken ,in order to improve processing quality of CO2 expanded cut tobacco.Change law of routine chemical and aroma component of cut tobacco was researched by determinating chemical components and smoking quality,to develop special perfume liquid prescription of CO2 expanded cut tobacco. Blending product prescription test of cut tobacco was researched, effect of cut tobacco on smoking quality of different price cigarette and effect of different amout of blending on mainstream smoke index of cigarette. results as follows:1. Tobacco structure (whole tobacco ratio, trivial tobacco ratio), resistant quassation character (whole tobacco ratio transformation efficiency of expanded process and whole process, increment of trivial tobacco ratio), expanded effect (filling power, expanded ratio) are heat air of expanded process, heat air velocity, steam flow rate; then are the dipping time and apocenosis time of dipping process; raw tobacco water ratio before expanding, water ratio after conditioning, converter frequency of loosing machine are also the factors. The discrepancies of each technology parameter of the whole expanded tobacco ratio and filling power are obvious, which showed that it is difficult to improving these two technology indexes under existent product conditions. In a range, the expanded tobacco filling power increased when the hot air temperature is up, and down with the increasing steam flow rate, and up then down with the accelerating hot air velocity, and up with the extending dipping time and the raw tobacco water ratio before expanding increasing, and down with the increasing conditioning water contents. Within a certain scope, expanded tobacco resistant quassation character enlarged along with the steam flow rate strengthened, speeded up along with the hot air wind speed dropped, after dipping the time expand assumes elevated the first declining trend, strengthened along with the apocenosis extension, the raw tobacco moisture content enhanced before the expanded tobacco increased, strengthened along with the conditioning water rate enhanced. Decreasing the frequency of loosing machine's convertor could make the tobacco quassation ratio down. The whole sensory qualities of the expanded tobacco with lower hot air temperature and higher steam flow ratio are better.2. The optimization setting index of process parameters of CO2 expansion was as follows, vacuum-damping in two cycles, water content of 19.0±1% in silk, 250 kg CO2 storage amount per tank, 200s of dipping time, 210s of flowing time, 850 kg/h of technological flow, 200℃of hot blast in expansion, 30 m/s of hot blast wind velocity in expansion, 700 kg/h of stream flow, 13.0±1 % of water damping. After optimization of setting index of process parameters, the expansion rate was decreased by 20% and the change rate of long strands proportion was increased by 1.7% and sensory quality was improved. Newly winnowing expansion tower was utilized to replace the traditional device for the problem generated after optimization. The testing results showed, with the newly equipment , the cut tobacco expansion rate is easy to control and the long strands proportion is higher with lower breakage rate. In general, the quality of expanded cut tobacco is steady with a better uniformity.3. The content of neutral aroma component and acidic aroma component was lower after CO2 expansion. Thus, the taste was light with a strong parch blight smell and dried sensation. As to the aroma loss in expanded cut tobacco, Special perfume liquid blend was designed, which were composed of natural plant extract of light bamboo leaves and Chrysanthemum Idicum L and extractum of tobacco flower and lower acid. The results showed compensating effect of feed solution blend B was better than the control.4. The expanded cut tobacco was added to the second or the third class cigarette, could enhance the smoothness and mildness of the tobacco smoke, the aftertaste was comfortable; the expanded cut tobacco was added to the first class cigarette, could reduce qualitative sense of smoke, mellowness and comfortability of aftertaste, increase impact and smoke concentration, at the same time, it also could bring certain rough and dry feeling, have obvious negative influence on the overall sensory quality. but the use of the expanded cut tobacco may improve burning state of tobacco rod, thus reduce pump number and the contents of tar and nicotine. the contents of the tar and nicotine in single mouth increase along with the increase of expanded cut tobacco added.
