Molded paper pulp, also referred to as molded pulp or molded fiber, is produced from 100% recycled newspaper, and is 100% recyclable & 100% biodegradable via stages of raw-material processing, pulping, molding, drying, and heat pressing. it can be easily molded to the shape of packed goods and the fiber is relatively soft and cushions these products by absorbing the impact. As a result of the growing environmental demands around the world, the use of"green packing"has become the trend in packaging industry. Molded pulp as the preferred packaging material for many new applications is due to a number of factors, including no pollution, recycling and so on. Recent research on molded paper pulp products, which have gotten some successes. While it is not so much to measure the mechanical and physical properties of molded paper pulp made from a variety of fiber types and not sum up completely and systemic the structural design of molded pulp. After designing the end caps, it is need to test their cushion performance, the mold and cost which paid for test are very expensive, and if the test fail, it will need to modify the mold again and double test, thus making the design circle too long and wasting the resource.In this article, based on recent study, the research on molded fiber package property for LCD TV were implemented by experiment and theoretic analysis, virtual simulation as follows:Using the relevant standards of corrugated board as for the information, to study the primary technique parameters of molded pulp material made of different fiber types via doing experiments. And to measure the effects that environment condition has on molded pulp end caps by doing the temperature and humidity test,To develop anti-compression strength formula of wedge unit, the structural unit of molded pulp cushion with experiment data processing by consulting corrugated box anti-compression strength formula. And to study for the relationship between units number and anti-compression via choosing the rid unit.The cushion function depends on the structural transmutation, so the structural design become the key point. To sum up the reasonable design flow chart, thus make it become the reference according to the practice work we learned in ERI co., ltd in Suzhou and request of cushion package.To do the virtual simulation drop test of molded pulp package for LCD TV with the ANSYS/LS-DYNA software, based on the present research above. The virtual simulation techniques can make the plan more optimized and provide with theory value and design experience for engineer.
