The mold industry in the national economy has become one of the important foundation industries in present, the plastic mold design and analysis mainly rely on the designer's experience and the staff's technology skills in our country. Because only after Mold test have been done can we determine whether the design is reasonable and the product is defect, which causes long mold's manufacturing cycle and the high cost. But the use of computer-aided design and analysis (CAD/CAE) integration technology can greatly improve the level of design and products quality of the plastic molds.This paper introduces the present situation of the domestic and foreign injection mold industry, the trend of development and the CAD/CAE/CAM technology. On this basis, the design and analysis for most injection mold are carried on by using the Pro/Engineer and Moldflow software as the development platform integrating with the situation of molding in Chinese. So that a reasonable reference for plastic products designs and manufacturing could be provided through the computer technology combining with manufacturing techniques.First, the paper elaborates on the principle of injection mold design and the role and function of Pro/Engineer software, Moldflow software; then, the hair dryer shell injection mold is designed after the it's 3D model created in Pro/E design software; at last, the analysis of the injection mold on temperature, pressure, filers , fluid and so on is done by Moldflow software. Through the analysis result to determine a revision to the design mold combining with the actual request and design experience, which has realized the electric drier outer covering injection mold's design fast, mold's research and development cycle time reduced, and the competitive power of the enterprise in the market enhanced.
