China is one of the most active earthquake area in the world. After "512 Wen Chuan" earthquake disaster, the job about earthquake, for example, forecasting, rescure and circumstance measurement, is becoming more and more important. Ministry of Environmental Protection of the People's Republic of China do an enormous job to monitor the disaster area. They also call for other provinces' help. It shows that the job is pretty important in rescure working. This project is an automatic circumstance measurement, it will take every precaution against secondary disaster, like plague, poison gas leakiness and water pollution.ZigBee is a new network self-organized technology, which is low-power consumption, low-cost and easy to expand. And it also has a flexible framework. It is mainly applied in low-speed wireless network, especially in wireless sensor network. By ZigBee network, the parameters of every observation points, like temperature, humidity, concentration of poison gas and quality of water, would be sent to center. As a result, it will be a real-time circumstance measurement system.In this monitoring network costing little without wiring, many sensor nodes laid in appropriate spaces of the mechanical equipment to monitor are able to gather signals which can not be collected and monitored in traditional method. The running data of equipments status is collected in unmanned surveillance environment, simultaneously printed out and sent to remote administrative personnel for data analysis, so as to achieve rapid and accurate prediction and diagnosis and to speed up fault diagnosis speed, repairing efficiency and equipment availability of electromechanical equipments.First of all, in the paper, I analyze ZigBee's system framework, characteristic and the actuality of ZigBee's physical layer, MAC layer, application layer and network layer, introduce the hardware composition of ZigBee network's node and software develop flow. I also develop a demonstration circumstance measurement system, which is consisted of ZigBee wireless network and digital temperature and humidity sensor SHT11.The system has some advantages, for example, out-of-men's-monitoring, real-time, low-power consumption and low-cost, achieve rapid and accurate prediction and diagnosis and to speed up fault diagnosis speed, repairing efficiency and equipment availability of electromechanical equipments. In the future, it will play an important role in rescuing and rebuilding job in earthquake disaster area.
