As a new manufacturing model of machine tool, machine tool remanufacturing and comprehensive improvement emphasizes on making full use of the used machine tool resources, with a notable effect of energy-saving, materials-saving and reducing environmental pollution, in line with China's strategic needs of developing recycling economy, implementing energy saving and emission reducing, and building a resource-conserving and environment-friendly society. A series of key technologies and methods of machine tool remanufacturing is required to be resolved, including the design and comprehensive evaluation methods of machine tool remanufacturing and comprehensive improvement, and so on. With the support of the National Key Technology R&D Program (NO.2006BAF02A20) and other projects, the scheme design of machine tool remanufacturing and comprehensive improvement based on the life-cycle of machine tool remanufacturing is studied.First of all, the problems of repair or NC retrofitting and the current situation and development trend of the machine tool remanufacturing industry at home and abroad are analyzed. Based on this, the meaning of machine tool remanufacturing and comprehensive improvement is proposed, and the system structure is established, including the objective system, remanufacturing process, technology framework and support system.Secondly, based on the analysis of the machine tool life-cycle, the scheme design criterion and requirements of machine tool remanufacturing and comprehensive improvement is put forward. Then, the design framework of machine tool remanufacturing and comprehensive improvement based on the machine tool life-cycle is established, including customer needs analysis, functional analysis, determination of the main technical parameters, overall scheme design, optimization and selection, detailed design, simulation and evaluation, and so on. The design scheme of mechanical parts remanufacturing, NC and electrical systems retrofitting and comprehensive improvement are analyzed in detail.Thirdly, the comprehensive evaluation method for the design scheme of machine tool remanufacturing and comprehensive improvement is proposed. The comprehensive benefits of machine tool remanufacturing are analyzed and evaluated with the indexes of economy, technology, resource and environment. Finally, based on the practices of Chonqing NO.2 Machine Tool Works Co., Ltd., the design scheme of remanufacturing of C616 series lathe is presented and the comprehensive benefits are evaluated.
