Shearer is one of the main equipment in fully mechanized coal mining face, high yield and efficiency of fully mechanized mining technology is developing rapidly, an urgent requirement is that shearer with high reliability and good dynamic properties, therefore, to explore related theoretical system and research methods to study the dynamic characteristics of shearer is necessary. Virtual prototyping technology is a new technology in the field of design and manufacture, provides an effective way to study of dynamic characteristics of shearer, this article will be the introduction of virtual prototyping technology to the shearer design, through the kinematics, dynamics simulation, provides a reliable basis for the shearer cutting design.This issue based on analysis of the work process of Shearer, set up a dynamic model of Shearer and the corresponding mathematical model to determine its basic design parameters and the overall parameters; at SolidWorks software Shearer all set up a three-dimensional parts solid model, a virtual assembly, set up a complete digital prototype shearer; through the figure of a prototype three-dimensional visualization and interference checking exercise virtual control, visual verification of the correctness of the model; Virtual prototype will be built into the medium COSMOSMotion dynamics analysis software, through the imposition of different loads to multi-rigid-body dynamics theory as the basis for the kinematics, dynamics analysis, has been cutting unit kinematics, dynamics characteristic curve, revealed the Department of shearer cutting operating performance and its dynamics change.The research work of the cutting department of shearer to provide a reasonable analysis and evaluation basis, the conclusions not only on the shearer cutting the Department of physical prototype and performance evaluation of the trial of great guiding significance, but also for other complex mechanical equipment kinematics, dynamics analysis and virtual prototyping must have set up the reference value.
