To solve the problem of water resources shortage faced by the oil sewage and to reduce the environmental pollution caused by the discharged sewage, a research of advanced wastewater treatment process was carried out.The oil shale retort sewage is catched from one of Fushun Shale Oil Company. And the source of shale oil wastewater is studied. The result shows that the effluent wastewater can not achieve the sewage effluent standard of Liaoning province. UV/Fenton reagent as further processing method was adopted. The effect handled by UV/Fenton is studied. The influential factors; the Fenton reagent constitute and the initial pH and UV illumination time are analyzed. We get the optimal reaction factor, that the initial dosage of H2O2 is 2.2g/l; and the initial concentration of FeSO4·7H2O is 2.0g/l; the initial pH is 3 and UV illumination time is 90 minutes. The result shows that after the UV/Fenton reaction, the final concentration of COD, NH3-N and Oil are 160 mg/,19 mg/l and 6 mg/l, finally, they catch the sewage effluent standard. The kinetics of the degradation of Oil Shale Retort Sewage by UV/Fenton oxidation is studied. Its reaction kinetic model is investigated. It is shown that the temperature and the initial concentration of hydrogen peroxide and ferrous sulfuric affect the reaction. It is confirmed that the reaction is the first-order reaction.
