This paper aims at using Environmental Kuznets Curve (EKC) theory to analyze Chinese economy-environment relations. In the first part, several provinces, together with China analyzed as a whole country, are chosen as specific cases to draw EKC graphs, and results show different curve shapes such as N-shape, U-shape and linear besides "inverted-U" shape. The overall environmental quality of China is worrying, but it is improving little by little. In the second part, the paper explors the influencing factors that shape the curves, and concludes that all factors include population, economy, society, resources, energies and environment should be coordinated to achieve sustainable development. In the third part, the analysed provinces are divided into three categories according to their common grounds, and the turning points of Chinese EKCs are calculated or predicted based on the above results. Results show that Beijing belongs to higher-coordinating development group, Guangdong, Jiangsu and Liaoning belong to secondary-coordinating development group, while Jilin, Guangxi and Guizhou belong to lower-coordinating development group. Besides, the turning points of some EKCs appeared during 2005-2009, the overall environmental quality would be improved in the following 3-10 years, and the executive power is one of the most effective measures to achieve turning points in China. At last, the paper promotes suggestions on how to improve Chinese environmental quality.
