Sand Production is the sand carried by the fluid in oil wells in oil recovery. And it is one of the hard Problems to dispose in oil production. Sand Production Prediction is important because of the safety, environmental, and operational concerns involved when produced sand partieles fill and plug the wellbore, erode down-hole and surface equipment, and increase operating expense. This paper established the Sand Production Prediction model for open hole completion and perforated completion, based on reasons and principles of Sand Production Aiming at the development of Wenchang Oilfield, the well core information of 19-1 and 14-3 groups oilfield are analyzed, and 54 samples are taken. Through uniaxial and triaxial test, the rock compressive strength is measured and the rock Young's modulus and Poisson's ratio are caculated.Based on the logging data and rock strength experimental data and reservoir sand-expirical model application to predict sand production of Wenchang Oilfield. Moreover, the reservoir sand production critical pressure is given. Analysis and calculation results show that the reservoir sand production critical pressure of Wenchang 14-3 and 19-1 Oilfield is large, and Sand Production is unlikely. However, Sand Prevention should be paid attention in the process of exploration. Finally, the Sand Prevention methods are proposed. The results will guide the design and development program of field, and enhance the economic benefits of oil exploration.
