Gaosheng Oilfield belongs to deep and massive thick heavy oil reservior, and is a set oftypical terrigenous clastic landsliding turbidite which is developed from deep-water lakebasin in the lower part of the third member of the Shahejie Formation. It has features ofcomplex lithology and low maturity. Its top sand grain is small and bottom sand grain islarger; and the gradient of bedding is obvious. The sand production in Gao18 and Gao246which lie in the acclivity of construction, is serious and mainly argillaceous fine sand Withthe development of the oilfeild and the increase of steam injection cycle, rock frame in thenear-well-bore area is destroyed. And along with the increase of crude oil viscosity and theproduced-liquid prop-carrying capacity, the sand producer is increased year by year whichsuspends the area development. For the serious sand production of heavy oil wells in theunconsolidated formation combined with the characteristics of high temperature in heavy oilrecovery, by research of the sand mechanism resulted by internal factors, development factorsand other factors in the block, as well as calculating sand index, critical producing pressuredifferential and critical flow rate of sand production, a series of treatment program for thesections with large sand production interval, with large amount of sand and producingargillaceous fine sand is developed, widly applied and perfected. These result in a systemwith functions of preventing sand, resisting sand, excluding sand and consolidating sand. Theresults of the research and application opens up a new way to provide the necessary technicalmeans for the difficult argillaceous fine sand production in the heavy oil blocks.
