Study On Urban Waterfront Landscape Planning And Design With Nature And Humanity

Rivers, lakes, marshes, sea and other urban waterfronts not only have the most dense natural elements of the city,but also with much human culture. Today, human disturbance in this area that caused by urban construction and human development is so severe,that is to say, the natural processes and human activities are all act on the urban waterfronts at the same time,while in this process inevitably produces a great contradiction between the two sides on their own needs. Different from the simple Urban Landscape Planning, particularities of urban waterfront make Urban Waterfront Landscape Planning should consider water with land and bank problems at the same time. Thus in the field become the most complex, comprehensive, and the most challenging design. So, how to set a balance between the natural process and human development, and to continue the city's historical and culture context to create a natural and humanistic Urban Waterfront Landscape is a impotant issue during today's urbanization.This dissertation reviews the historical development of urban waterfront;introduces the concepts, features and inscapes of Urban Waterfront Landscape; Summarizes theory on Urban Waterfront Landscape Planning; It analysis existing problems by current situation in China from the perspective of the nature and human being, and then propose principles and solutions theoretically to handle these problems; analysis on how to design with nature and human elements. And the concrete conformation of the planning and design of urban waterfront also has been showed. Finally study and comment on a design case based on the theoretical research of bold text, trying to validate the idea of design with respecting nature and human which is raised in forward context.This thesis on Urban Landscape Planning and Design is supposed to provide an idea on design with nature and humanity to inspire the booming construction of waterfront in China.
