Boiler is an important part of production and life, in fact, economic benefit depends on the safety and reliability of boilers, which has to do with our lives and properties. There are massive boilers around our country, which are scattered distribution and difficult to be managed uniformly. Therefore, boiler regulation bodies have to visit the workplace when they need to inspect and maintain several boilers, thus, it is time-consuming and heavily laborious. Nowadays, with the development of computer, Internet technology, and multilevel architecture has been applied to boiler monitoring & control system based on Client/Server. As a result, boiler regulation bodies could receive real-time information of boiler operation and do not arrive at the scene through the Internet/Intranet. However, current network architecture dose not satisfy the requirement concerning large boiler system and a quantities of parameters. Under these circumstances, according to boiler process and problems of the boiler system in this paper, the multilevel network architecture for real-time monitoring system for the boiler software is developed and designed based on the configuration software and the Internet.The main work and achievement are as following:(1) On the platform of configuration software, structure of multilevel network boiler real-time monitoring system for boilers is designed based on Client/Server architecture. Real-time operating statuses and control signals about boilers are monitored and transmitted among the boiler field, the municipal and provincial regulators by the means of two-way transmission mode through flexible configuration parameters.(2) Parallel mode including Internet and Intranet are adopted, therefore, real-time monitoring system for boiler operation extended to boiler group across a number of enterprises (municipal regulation) or a number of cities (provincial regulation), aimed to achieving optimal operation of the boiler in a larger scope.(3) Two-way remote data acquisition and transmission structure is designed, by the mean of Using Microsoft(?) SQL Server relational database technology, and the transmission security of state variables and control signals is implemented during boilers operation between regulatory authorities and the field and transfer cyber security. (4) Virtual private data channel is established by VPN (Virtual Private Network, Virtual Private Network) technology to generate the data transmitted.The research and development of this system is not only conducive to boiler operation in a safe, stable and efficient way, but also it is extended to a large area. This system is convenient to regulatory authorities to reinforce management and monitoring of boilers and raises the level of regional energy utilization.
