With the continuous development of packaging industry, cartons and boxes have become essential containers for household appliances, food, pharmaceutical, cosmetic, textile, traffic tools, tobacco, and alcohol industries. At the same time, because of people's aesthetic view of rising, requirements of cartons and boxes packing shape and pattern diversity are increasingly becoming higher. For the market situation, some manufacturers at home have started to produce related carton making devices. However, the number of enterprises who have carried on the research and production for this kind device is still relatively small. And its core components of the motion control system, most adopted PC-based motion control card, so, the cost is relatively high. Therefore, this paper puts forward a control scheme which takes the Advanced RISC Machines (ARM) to design the management platform to replace the personal computer (PC), takes the digital signal processor (DSP) to design the motion control platform, and takes the PC/104 bus or serial ports to combine the two platforms. And the design of software and hardware of numerical control (NC) platform and communication protocol of carton samplemaker are introduced.The design of hardware of NC platform of the carton samplemaker takes ARM processor S3C2440A as the core of management module, general DSP processors TMS320F2812 as the core of motion control module. At the same time, serial port and PC/104 interfaces for the data interaction between two platforms and storage resources and general peripherals interface are designed. Processor S3C2440A mainly responsible for external processing data sending and receiving, the task scheduling, file management, interface display, Drawing Exchange Format (DXF) and other graphic format file conversion, G code explanation, and complete the speed of planning and transform the actual length to pulse number. Processor TMS320F2812 is in charge of data receiving, data types of judgment processing, data storage and extraction, and according to processing data to complete interpolation operation, finally output speed and position to control the stepping motor to complete scheduled trajectory. Firstly, using Prote199SE software, this thesis complete schematic and Printed Circuit Board (PCB) design of the hardware of carton samplemaker NC platform, making out the hardware circuit board; Then through the debugging and validation of circuit boards, to ensure hardware circuit board can work normally; In this hardware basis, this paper mainly completed DSP motion control platform software design. Finally, combine with the machine and have a joint test.Through the above work, this paper has finished some researches on the correlative technologies, and completed the carton samplemaker basic function realization. The embedded NC platform of the carton samplemaker still needs the further development of follow-up work to become perfect.
