As one of the optimization program of aeronautic starter/generator system, switched reluctance(SR) motor attracts more and more attention with the more electric aircraft and all-electric aircraft technology continues to evolve, as well as the establishment of high-voltage DC power supply system.. Because both the controller and the power inverter are relative weak parts in switched reluctance system, the machine of two-channel SR starter/generator system is divided into two parts that controlled by individual controller and power inverter respectively. Once the weakest part of the system such as main power converter is in fault,it may make the system work abnormally or bring serious consequence, so the key to improve system reliability is fault analysis and fault tolerant control.This paper introduces the system components, research status, working principle and control methods of SR starter/generator system firstly, and then summs up the characteristics of the system .Two-channel SR starter/generator system is briefly introduced. Two-channel SR starter/generator system implementation is an important part of the whole subject research. With the result of lab, this paper establishes two-channel SR starter/generator system experiment platform based on DSP+CPLD, and proves the validity of the system by experiment research.As coils of two channels are winded in the same core, two channels couple with each other. In order to provide some basis for fault analysis, the discipline of the self-induction of stator pole and the mutual induction between any stator poles analyzed based on simulation.The next, this paper researches on common faults by simulation, analyzes the behavior of system under different fault condition and the impact of fault on the system, then according to the characteristics of fault raises the corresponding fault-tolerant control scheme.Finally, this paper introduces the experimental platform. The hardware and the process of control software of two-channel SR starter/generator system are also introduced. Based on the experimental platform, the paper validated the simulation aforementioned, the result proved the validity and correctly of the fault-tolerant control scheme raised in this paper.
