Research On The Development And Utilization Of Urban Underground Space In Chongqing

With the accelerating pace of urbanization, there are a lot of problems our cities are facing, such as land decreased, traffic congestion, environment pollution and so on, which to a large extent constrain the rapid development of cities. Based on the real situation that we have more people but less arable land, it is our inevitable choice to find space from underground and make full use of the underground space in order to addressing the above-mentioned problems.Based on the Theory of Sustainable Development, the Zone Theory and the Theory of Sustainable Utilization for Land Resources, the paper investigates the advantages of urban underground space such as in building energy efficiency, hazard mitigation, the energy sources and materials in store and so on, and analyzes the underground space level to be explored and the use form. After analyzing the use current situation of underground space in Chongqing, we find that Chongqing is still in the primary stage of the use of urban underground space and developing depth and developing scale is still far not enough. While the current supply and demand antinomy, the transportation antinomy and environment antinomy in Chongqing shows that the city have the need to the underground space.The thesis puts forward a new kind of evaluation method named extenics theory to evaluate the development potential of urban underground space, and proves the applicability in this research. And according to establishment principles of the index system and the prior research results about underground space, the paper establishes the index system from the resources quality coordination degree, social and economic efficiency coordination degree and government, business enterprise, public coordination degree. On the basis, the paper discusses the development potential of urban underground space of the different zones in Chongqing and determines the development level of different zones.Aimed at the background and the characteristic of underground space, our research discusses the general idea of development and utilization of underground space in Chongqing, and puts forward the development strategies of the underground space in Chongqing. Finally, the author summarizes the research achievements and points out some problems that need to be solved and studied further.
