With the rapid development of economy and realty business, China has become the largest and fastest developing elevator market. Door operator is an important component of the entire elevator system. Door operators using DC motors and induction motors have certain inevitable short comings, while using permanent magnet synchronous motors (PMSM) as replacement results in considerable improvement in performance. To change the face that most door operators use DC or induction motors, study on PMSM door operator is performed as described in this thesis.First, the background and importance of the research are subjected with a brief introduction of the door operator system structure and situation of study. A basic solution with certain key points is deduced through requirement analysis, which is subjected to detail discussions as follow: For speed control, stand S curve is introduced briefly compared with S curve calculation considering speed and distance constrains, and the flow chart of the software algorithm is given accordingly. For intelligent control, details are given on initial electric angle calculation, door width learning, door weight learning, passenger protect based on torque detection and offline inertia identification based on acceleration and deceleration. For motor control, mathematical model is deduced first followed by hardware and software solution. The hardware parts contains control circuit designs about DSP, interface, storage and communication as well as power circuit designs about rectifier, inverter, braking and switching power source. The software part contains flow charts of each program module.At last, experiment waveforms are analyzed which proves speed control completed with a good quality and all function requirements fulfilled.
