NuoDeng Village lies in YunLong county of Daili,Autonomous Prefecture of Bai Nationality. Over a thousand years, Bai lived in the village for generations. It was being a famous commercial center in western Yunnan ."Ten thousands packs of salt and rice, all kinds of goods in circulation on this market, businessman exchanged traders coming and going in great number, you were heard the bell of horses all the time on the road", this is a true portrayal ofprosperity. Over hundreds of successful candidates in the imperial examinations at the provincial level were lived in the village, All of these had a great relationship with Salt well.The development of salt economy changed the trajectory of NuoDeng village, also changed the internal mechanism of settlement development. This paper works on salt economy--- the "life path" of the village, explain how the model change of economy impact on the Settlement layout, space form, architectureduring the development of salt well. We also study on the external form of multiple culture, which was generated by the foreign culture and the nationality culture of Bai.We catch the typical characteristics of mountain settlement, compared its courtyard space with dam architecture, find out the evolution models of courtyard houses when they being moved to the mountain, and we also work on the public architecture, construction techniques and decorative culture,through this we want to explore the formation of this millennium village as well as the internal relations of various factors.
