Research On The Usability Of Digital Camera Operate Interface

With the devolvement of digital camera technology and the improvement of user level, users'demands for digital camera become higher and higher. Users not only require the camera have full function, but also need the usability of the camera with a high level.This thesis focuses on the touch panel digital camera, researched its operator interface. The main purpose is to point out a set of methods for usability researching and to give support to studies and design in the future. Specific study content includes: firstly, through interviews with expert to establish a framework of usability researching to investigate the user's awareness on the camera icon appeared on the screen. Secondly, built an usability testing and find out the problems during the process of users operation, through interviews to find out the cause of problems. Thirdly, according to the users model design and modify the operate interface, to establish the usability inspection, review the interface designing prototype.Through the targeted research for the operate interface on this touch panel digital camera, the paper will combine the usability investigating, testing and inspection to form a set of method for usability researching.Practice has proved that the proposed methods and techniques can help the designers identify and solve usability problems to effectively improve usability and quality of human-computer interaction. Meanwhile, the methods proposed in paper for usability researching can be used for digital camera and some handheld devices to provide theoretical support, with a certain significance and reference value.
