Design And Realization Of Main Engine Remote Control System For Marine Simulator Based On PLC

It is generally approved by the shipping industry to train seaman by the marine simulator in place of the actual ship, which training method is not only short in cycle but also safe, reliable and economical and has been listed by the IMO(International Maritime Organization) as the rigid requirement of pre-post training. As the important component of the marine simulator, the main engine remote control system is also the primary symbol of the engine room automation, so it is of great importance to simulate the function of its control.This paper chooses one low-speed two-stroke diesel engine of MAN B&W as the studying object. It analyzes its external characteristics and the main functions of the main engine remote control system of this diesel engine. And the mathematical models are established. The core of this thesis is to design program of ladder diagram for 1768-L45 PLC controller in the AB company, using RSLogix5000 as the development tool to simulate the functions of the main engine remote control system which concludes reverse, brake, start, oil supply and speed regulation, revolution limit, safety protection and so on. At the same time, it establishes communication between 1768-L45 controller and PIMS configuration for OPC.System fully integrates computer control technology, network communication technology, configuration technology and database technology. It adopts the modular structure in terms of hardware and configuration technology in terms of software, applies virtual reality technology to simulate the movement of the operation object. The whole main engine remote control system has the characteristics of flexibility, convenience, easy maintenance and high reliability in terms of hardware configure. It is technically advanced and functionally consistent with training requirements of the IMO and the National Maritime Bureau.
