Metallic doors and windows products are widely used in modern building. They have many characteristics, such as multiple categories, plentiful sculpts and so on, which cause more problems such as abundance product information and various data type. During the course of current metallic doors and windows products data management, there are some widespread problems, such as not unified products information encoding rule, inefficient products configuration, etc. Aiming at the features of the metallic doors and windows products and the problems about their data management, a professional software special for metallic doors and windows products data management is developed, which is based on the study on metallic doors and windows products data management system for the Industry Application and its core technologies.First, On the basis of the analysis about the situation and the developing tendency of domestic and international PDM system; a kind of method about metallic doors and windows products data managemnt based on the features of the major ingredient and product family is put forward,which aims at the characteristics of the metallic doors and windows products and the industry demand, A 4-layer architecture of metallic doors and windows products data management system for the Industry Application is set up.Second, the core technologies involved in the metallic doors and windows PDM system facing industrial applications, such as product configuration management, coding management and data storage management are studied. As the production pattern of metallic doors and windows has the feature of high diversity of production and batch customization, it requires PDM to configure product quickly. After analyzing the similar structure characteristics of metallic doors and windows products, this thesis puts forward a component-based modeling method of metallic doors and windows products. In this method, the parts of metallic doors and windows products are abstracted to the components. According to the assembly relationship among the components, the product model is set up, which gets rid of the limitation of specific parts, meanwhile, improves the configuration efficiency and flexibility. On the basis of the analysis on material coding methods and aiming at the production characteristics of the metallic doors and windows manufacturers, an encoding method of metallic doors and windows products and its rules are introduced which achieves the classification of metallic doors and windows products information and has the features of easy generation, fast querying and easy interpreting, etc. According to the relationship among the relevant data, the database of the products is established, which provides data support for the whole system operation and ensures reliability and stability of all the data.At last, based on above studies, the metallic doors and windows products data management system facing industrial applications is developed. The system is characterized by friendly operation interface, convenient operation and powerful function. The system has been applied in metallic doors and windows enterprises, with good application effects.
