Since Chinese government started the "Reform and opening-up police" process in 1978, with the high speed of developing, the problem of resource and environment become more urgent than ever before. Forced by global climate change and the pressure of CO2 emission reduction from international community, Chinese government declared its plan to cut carbon intensity– or carbon dioxide emission per unit of GDP– by 40 to 50 percent by 2020 compared with the level in 2005. This means that the Chinese economy on its way to a low carbon economy. Meanwhile, the gap between China and developed countries in energy management technology and equipment also shows China's huge potential in energy-saving. In this background, it's necessary for cold- formed steel industry to proceed the power-saving management planning. Considering that electricity cost is one of the main cost in enterprise operating, better control of electricity cost will enhance enterprise's competitive advantage in relative industry. With cold-formed steel industry as the research object, we analyzed the current production patterns, energy consumption per unit and energy consumption status based on the basic theory, domestic and international research and the application of lean production and system electricity-saving. Cold-formed steel is widely used now and the demand increases every year with the development of building industry. Although the current level of domestic energy consumption of cold rolled section steel production line has little difference with the international advanced level, cold-formed steel production process still has a large potential in energy saving in the aspect of lean production system and energy-saving control system. In this Basis, focusing on the Baosteel Group's production line of cold-formed steel, we build the cold-formed steel building industry and application of energy-saving control system in the view of lean management, lean supply and lean production.
