As China’s urbanization process accelerated, the construction of urban space has entered a rapid development stage, but in the city "the contradiction between people and cars" and other traffic problems along with the development of the city gradually. Domestic urban construction tend to focus on urban construction scale, but the lack of continuity between the building function of attention in the urban space, leading to the urban space lost the integrity of the organic, people as the city’s main body status is often ignored, thus appear human walking continuity problems such as lack of motor vehicle traffic and pedestrian space by extrusion space. Business district as the problems of urban space, this paper hopes to study pedestrian the skyway system business district to solve above-mentioned problems in urban space. This paper first studies from the view of urban design, the skyway system related theory are summarized, and combined with the viewpoint of system theory to the skyway system for systematic analysis from its physical space morphology and internal operation mechanism, at the same time, profits from the domestic and foreign urban the skyway system development experience, combined with the Benxi Metro business district the skyway system project design and practice research, exploration of the skyway system in the design strategy in modern urban space.
