This paper presents the essential function and structure of energy loss online monitoring and energy conservation system of power plant. Meanwhile, the software platform has been designed in the paper. Using one of the most outstanding development tools C-H-Builder, the author has been designed and developed a suit of calculation analysis and database management system based on C/S network structure. In addition, the subroutine of user input /output and online monitoring interface has been considered in the program. The system has many good advantages of convenience operation, flexible windows, strongly function and friendly interface. The system provides the module of the data validity and user security. Moreover, the calculation results can be displayed with report forms and graphics interface.The main functions of the software include the conditions monitoring of the units and the performance analysis on line, for example, the calculation of the net coal consumption rate of thermal power plants, the net coal consumption rate of power supply, the efficiency of boiler, the efficiency of turbine and other significant index. Furthermore, the software can calculate and estimate the levels of energy loss caused by the change of some operation conditions (e.g. the vary of the parameter of the steam). The software provide function of 'alert' if some parameters exceed the range of permission, and this may urge the operator to adjust operation condition and put right. Meanwhile, this may promise the units under the conditions of optimization, and achieve lower net coal consumption rate of thermal power plant and higher generation efficiency. Additionally, the software can automatically complete the report forms which is indispensable in power plant.
