Study On The Port Physical Distribution Center And Its Delivery Network In Our Country

Port is the window of international trading in our country, and take great effect on international transportation, worldwide trading and economics of our country. Port is not only the hub of loading and unloading from water to land or from land to water, but also the very important integrated basic logistics facility and the best location of the integrated physical distribution center. It is the big tendency that port will change into big integrated logistics center. Many problems are studied in my thesis.The background and significance of the topic selection are illustrated in preface, in chapter 1 we introduce the concise concept and classification of physical distribution as well as the functional elements of physical distribution system and physical basic elements. The analysis of development and tendency of physical distribution in and out of china is made in chapter 2. In chapter 3, we make a detailed analysis of industry of port physical distribution and of port development tendency. Meanwhile in this chapter we point out that we must develop physical distribution and improve the quality of service to customers in order to make our ports have the ability in the competition after joining WTO. In chapter 4, the port physical distribution center's development mode, strategy, function, position, management and construction are analyzed thoroughly. In chapter 5, the ideas on port physical distribution center development are put forward and on the basis of the forecasting of amount of goods in the port, we define the scale of fleet and solve the problem of fleet assignment by the method of linear program, logistics management information system of port is researched. Chapter 6 provide a study on the delivery network of port physical distribution system, and we define single physical distribution center location by the center-of-gravity method, multi-physical distribution center location by clustering-based method and dynamic physical distribution center location by dynamic programming model, and the lines of vehicles have been optimized by vehicles scheduling program (VSP).Because in the china there's no example of constructing large-scaled physical distribution center in the port, and because the data of actual physical distribution demand in different depots can not be gathered, what we can do is to make simulated research on port physical distribution system, the result of this research has certain use for reference as well as value of application for constructing large-scaled physical distribution center. Chapter 4,5 and 6 are the focuses of my thesis.
