This is a thesis about the design of the lecture hall in the university. It based upon the analysis of existing conditions of the intercommunication place in university both in China and abroad and studied a number of examples and theories abroad. It discusses and analyses the design problems in laying-out, architectural design, environment design. This thesis makes a preliminary research into this problem in six parts.The first part deals briefly with the situation of lecture hall in China and abroad, analysis the reasons that baffled the development of lecture hall in our country, and expounds the developmental tendency.According to the analysis upon four function structures of campus, the second part concludes three main laying modes and their applicable conditions. Due to the different laying mode, there are two different types of lecture hall. It gives particular analysis and conclusion of the characteristics of the two types.The third emphasizes on the comprehensive design about each department such as architecture, interior design, acoustics, line of sight, equipment, and the rooms pertain to the lecture hall. It also introduces the seeing and hearing equipment using in teaching.The fourth part is about the physical environment of lecture hall.The fivth part, a number of cases enumerated to expatiate on the art of interior space of lecture hall and rest space that pertain to it.In the last part, through a case study, illuminate how to solve the questions appear during design.The thesis emphasize on the new problem in the architectural space and the environment design which bring from the transformation of modern education system. Thinking from the point of systematical study of lecture theatre and sum up the experience and achievements in this field, in a hope of grasping the reasonable design theories.
