Flexible support systems are one of the most advanced and most potential structural forms for glass architectures,and have been widely adopted in practical engineering. This paper provides a research on the features,applications of flexible support systems. Areas in need of further research are also highlighted.First of all,the author brought forward a linear method which is called "combining method" for flexible support systems. And the author compared the caculating results with this method and with ANSYS to analyze the practicability of this method.Then,the author provided ways to control flexible support systems' displacement on the base of study the capability of flexible support systems.At the same time,the author analyzed the self-vibrating capability of flexible support systems and study the influence of parameters' changement.What is more,the author summarized the glass facepalte's capability and its influence to flexible support systems.At last,the author analyzed the capability of a new flexible support system called "monolayer cable-net",and brought forward the idea of combining monolayer cable-net with other support systems.
