This paper is mainly to discuss the recording and publishing of fault data of electric power network. Fault data is of great importance to the analysis of electric power network. Sharing and publishing of fault data is a function that a recorder should have. Currently, fault data is transferred by telephone line using Xmodem or Zmodem Protocol, which is often hardware dependent and not reliable. In other case, even if Ethernet is available, the remote data logging and browsing is still inconvenient because special software is required to interpreting special format data for different fault data recorder. In this paper, we have developed a method to publish fault data via Internet. This method makes good use of the widely used TCP/IP protocol and the widely spread Internet. It makes good sense by publishing our fault data by web pages. This method succeeds in good adoption, convenient-construction, easy debugging and easy controlling. We have included algorithm and main codes for every section.Although what we have discussed in this paper is originally designed for the publishing of fault data in electric network, it has a wider meaning in practice. Currently, the publishing of data in embedded real time system is of much concern. So the method we have discussed in this paper may be of help to those who do similar R&D work.
