Cold air distribution with ice storage for air-conditioning is a new technology to make balance of the electric supply and to reduce the running cost of system. This technology has been becoming the standard in HAVC in the world. The design process of cold air distribution with ice storage system was investigated in this thesis. A computer software for the design of the system was developed.Concerning with optimization of system design, this thesis disclosed the common problems of ignoring the particularity of the new system by analyzing the traditional design method, which results in the deviation between theoretical and experimental results. The improvement over system design was proposed in this work to eliminate the deviation, and a series of calculation methods for volume of air, temperature rise of pipe and design of cooling coil were established. The software for system design was developed on the basis mentioned above.In most situations, cooling load calculated by traditional methods is larger than the actual one. Concerning with this deviation, coefficient method based on transfer function was investigated in this thesis. The result was used to develop a program for calculation of cooling load.This thesis analyzed the relation of parameters describing humidity of humid air. Based on traditional operating methodology of h-d Graph, a program for drawing dynamic h-d graph and analyzing air conditioning process was developed. It would be used for analysis of air conditioning process and system design.Taking an office building in XiaMen as an example, this thesis not only tested the computer software but also completed system design of cold air distribution with ice storage. At last, this thesis discussed some economical problems of the new system and traditional ones.
