With the market leading transforming from sellers to buyers, quick and variable market requirement requites a company to quick response to market and shortening time-market key that directly decides whether a company will succeed in contention. Because there are many uncertain factors in the process of products development, e.g. a variable client's requirement, a variable supporter, it is inevitable to change products' design data. So design change becomes an important operation in the action of the company's planting management. At first, the dissertation analyses the discrete manufacture company's requirement to design change management and divides the requirement into two levels: the first one is assuring the product's data integrated, coincident, effectible and traceable; the second one is correctly and punctually transforming change information. Secondly, the dissertation summarizes the reasons and purposes of design change, and amply discusses the design change entirely process and every item of the process, including change suggestion, change audit, change appeal, establishing change tasks, change executing, auditing and publishing change result, change notice, change perform and change track. Special on change suggestion, the dissertation amply discusses the relative information and the importance of establishing the design change control council. On the issue of managing the change result, the dissertation divisionally provides the consultations both the part and the assembly through version management technology. The part should be identified with identifier, version and modify sequence, and the assembly should be thought on change transfer. The change object is defined with configuration status management technology, including configuration status identifier, configuration status control, configuration status accounting, and configuration status audit. The dissertation discusses the design change influence on quality, time, and cost during the period of development phase, manufacture phase, and sale phase. Besides the company, the change conduct involves the clients and the supporters. The dissertation amply discusses the noticeable issues when design change is conducted. The dissertation claims change associative matrix to mark the relation between parts and assembly to solve the associative change issue. Then, with the theory, the dissertation completes the DCMM model that is the outline design of Design Change Management System based on Product Data Management,which uses the reference model established by the International Workflow Management Corporation, through Unified Model Language (UML). The dissertation amply discusses the advanced based-web implement method of the Design Change Management System ----Java 2 Enterprise Editor (J2EE), and exhibits the implemented system: MIT PDM/PLM 3.0 based on J2EE. In order to illuminate the advance of the system, the dissertation summarily introduces UML and J2EE. Finally, as a validation of research result, the dissertation provides the consultation based on the system as an application instance.
