CONFIG is a crucial part of the integrated engineering management information system which supports aircraft designing. It provides the management of the computer files which are generated by engineers within the process of aircraft designing. It provides the methods of file releasing,file retrieving,file reviewing,file confirming and version control. It stores and protects the released files in the system file repositories,as also it records the technical status of the released file. CONFIG plays an extremely important role during both the engineering process and manufacturing process.The most commonly used technology within engineering information integration is RDM technology.
