Study On The Theory Of Water Price And The Process Of Water Pricing

Water resource is one of the most important resources in the world. Now it's crisis has become a serious threaten to the survival and the development of human being. So we have to find the way to protect and save water resource. Optimum water pricing is the key point.In this paper, the structure of water value and water price, the characteristics of water resource, and how they affect water pricing have been discussed.The paper's chapter 1 is introduction. Some common theories of commodity and price have been explained in chapter 2. Chapter 3 focus on the value and the rate of natural resources. The characteristics of water resource, and how they affect the structure of water pricing have been discussed in chapter 4 and chapter 5. The key points of the chapter 6 are the principles and typical theories of water pricing. The chapter 7 is the case study. In the study, Xi'an was selected to do the job, and the fuzzy model of water resource value was used to calculate the water price.In the model, the quality and the quantity of water resource and GDP, and the people's satisfaction to the level of current water price in Xi'an in 1999 were selected as the parameters of evaluation of water resource value. Compared with the currentwater price, the resort can reflects the value of water resource exactly, and may use as a reference for the adjustment of water pricing of Xi'an in future.
