Analysis Of Project Target Management In Construction Of Building

Project targets management is the key point in construction project management works. Recently, especially after China's entering into WTO, to keep pace with international construction procedures, there has been promotion of project management in construction works in China. However, it is still week either in theory studies or in practices. It is necessary and meaningful to make analysis of existing problems and provide options for solution to enhance competition and level of construction management works and to make improvement of construction management.Based on the basic theory of project target management, the basic four targets in construction management works which are progress control, quality control, cost control and safety control are analyzed conjunction with some practical projects. Some existing problems are analyzed and some measures to improve level of the basic four targets in construction management are proposed to enhance the level of project targets management.The main contents studied and conclusions of this thesis are as following: (1) Concept of project management, development on project management and status & existing problems of project management in China are brief introduced. The theme of this essay that four targets management is put forward;(2) Targets and process of progress control are discussed. Problems in progress control and corresponding solutions are analyzed and proposed through case study;(3) The various ways to achieve the targets of quality control, corresponding quality control measures at each construction stage as well as the influencing factors are fully talked over and contrasted. Then through case study of Shao Wu Baking Factory project, it is recommended that setting up of quality control system of ISO9001 in addition to enforcement of control over manpower, equipment, materials, measures and working process will be the effective way to achieve the targets of quality control;(4) Concept of construction cost, breakdown items as well as contents of cost control are brief introduced. Ways and measures for cost control are further elaborated. Through case study of Kodak Project, the viewpoint that all process, all factors involved in construction works and all cost elements should be considered in cost control is presented;(5) Requirements, contents and characteristics for safety control over constructionare elaborated. Through case study of Xiamen People's Hall project, system management is introduced in safety control;(6) Conclusions of the whole thesis that the key points for project management lie on enhancement of control over construction progress is put forward. It is recommended that setting up effective project management system & group, active control, enforced control over each production factor and improvement of monitoring works will be effective ways to achieve the targets of construction project target management.
