The sections' shape of the beam in the steel structure is mostly I. With thinking of the strength factor, it's necessary to make the beam web high and thin. To raise the critical stress of the web, we always lay some transverse stiffeners on the web, and also lay some longitudinal stiffeners sometime. At present, there are no information or specification on studying the transverse stiffener of the thinned-web beam systemically. And there are a small few literatures related on load-bearing ability and laying of the transverse stiffeners of the thinned-web beam. Therefore the designs of stiffeners in the structures mostly depend on engineers' experience, then lead to the using stiffeners' stiffness and section are bigger. That make the waste of material too much and the design maybe not advisable. In this paper we study the transverse stiffeners of the thinned-web beam bearing several concentrated longitudinal strain actions. Thinking of using post-buckling strength of web plate, we study some facts about transverse stiffeners including strain ability, condition of breaking, calculation of strength and stabilization of the stiffener bearing regional load action.
