It is known that hydraulic turbine speed governor is one of the important equipment in the hydropower station. It governs the speed, the operating mode and power output of hydraulic turbine. Its performance exerts important influence on the quality of electric energy and operational reliability of the hydro power plants. It is an active subject to research software and hardware realization of turbine speed governor.In the paper, first, an overview about the history, current status and trend of hydroturbine governor is discussed. And then the benefits of using DSP are summarized in brief. Referred the fuzzy logic theory and MATLAB, the self-adjusting parameter PID control strategy based on the fuzzy logic is proposed. It makes governor more adaptive to the real conditions. The simulation result shows PID controller with parameter fuzzy self-adjusting is more available. The following two chapters, it first introduces the basic knowledge of TMS320LF240x, then the hardware and software design of hydroturbine governor based on TMS320LF2407 developed by the author are dissertated in detail. The chapter of hardware design first expounds the whole design. Several primary circuit are designed, including frequency measuring circuit, PWM signals output circuit, LCD display circuit, analog signals input circuit, on-off input and output circuit and the interface circuit between the DSP and PC. Software design firstly introduces software development environment and the task of software design for DSP based HydraulicTurbine speed governor. Then it gives several key subprogram, including frequency measuring, A/D convert, PWM output with a dead band, LCD display. In addition, a method to program on-chip flash of DSP over the serial communications interface is also presented.At last, the author gives a summary of the whole thesis and points out the shortage of this paper and more research for requirement.
